Privacy and your data
GLIDE is LeadGL Academy's speaking practice app. This page explains what GLIDE keeps about you, why, for how long, and who can see it.
Version 2026-10-18. If this page changes in a way that matters, GLIDE will ask you to read it again.
What GLIDE keeps
- Your account: your email address and name from the Class Discussion Board.
- What you enter: your profile, meeting cards, notes and daily goal.
- Practice rounds: the conversation, your measures and feedback, and a recording of your voice.
- Meetings you record: the recording (everyone's voices), the transcript and the report, and a short sample of your voice so GLIDE can tell which speaker is you.
- Videos: which videos you watched, at what speed, and the main point you wrote.
- Feedback you send: LeadGL reads it to improve GLIDE.
- Activity: when you signed in and used GLIDE.
How it is processed
To run conversations, create voices and analyze your speaking, GLIDE sends your voice and text to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted connection. Google processes it under its terms for the Gemini API. GLIDE sends your data nowhere else, does not sell it and does not use it for advertising.
The sign-in page (password sign-in and "Email me a link") includes a "Verify you are human" check from Cloudflare Turnstile. It stops automated programs from guessing passwords or using the link form to flood someone's inbox. While the sign-in page is open, Cloudflare receives technical information from your browser, such as your IP address and details of your browser and device. It does not receive your name, your email address or your password: our server sends Cloudflare only the one-time result of the check. Cloudflare uses this information to run the check, not for advertising. Once you are signed in, GLIDE does not use the check and no page loads anything from Cloudflare.
Where it is stored
On a rented server in Japan at XServer, a hosting company, under LeadGL’s account (the same account as the Class Discussion Board). Your records and recordings are encrypted with a key that belongs to your account. That key is in turn protected by Google Cloud’s key management service in Tokyo, so the master key is not on the hosting server, and every use of it is logged. The key service never sees your records.
How long it is kept
- Recordings of your voice in Practice rounds: 30 days.
- Meeting recordings: 30 days, or until you delete them.
- Other participants' words in meeting transcripts: 90 days.
- Everything else: until you delete it or your account.
Who can see it
- You.
- LeadGL administrators see your activity only: when you used GLIDE and counts such as rounds, minutes and meetings. They do not see your topics, conversations, recordings or feedback.
- Your coach may see the same activity information. A piece of feedback reaches your coach only when you send it with a question.
Your company's information
GLIDE works best when you practice your real work, so your practice will often include company information: projects, numbers, customers, colleagues.
GLIDE protects it: your records are encrypted with your own key; LeadGL staff and coaches do not read your practice; your voice recordings are deleted after 30 days; and nothing is shared with anyone except Google's Gemini API, which runs the AI.
Your company may have rules on using AI tools. Follow them. If some details must not leave your company, you can still practice the same conversation with general terms, such as "a major client" instead of a name, or "about 10%" instead of an exact figure. The speaking skills you build are the same.
Anonymous statistics
To improve GLIDE for everyone, LeadGL uses anonymous numbers across many learners (for example, typical speaking speed at each level). Only numbers leave your records, and only in groups of at least 10 learners; never your words, topics, recordings or name. A single English word you found hard to say is included only if at least 5 learners had the same word.
Other people in your meetings
Record a meeting only when everyone in it agrees, and use the recording only for your own learning.
Your choices
In Settings you can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time. Deleting the account destroys your encryption key, so your records cannot be recovered. You can also delete a single meeting recording on its page.
